In his documentary feature debut, filmmaker Mauro Colombo immerses himself in the Darién Gap, a dense and mysterious jungle that divides Panama and Colombia. At the dangerous border between the two countries, guerrillas, immigrants, indigenous people, farmers, drug traffickers, local police and wild animals cross paths.

A young woman from Stockholm moves to her boyfriend's hometown in northern Sweden, but the relationship quickly ends. She finds a job and stays, for reasons she doesn't even understand herself. How do you become part of something new?

A young man, of Romani descent, returns to his hometown of Gloucester. He is met by local garage mechanic, Dunleavy. They embrace, smiling. But what past does the young man carry with him? What awaits him back amongst people he doesn't really understand and who don't understand him? And what lurks in the forest, watching, silent, old as the trees?

The story of the Wellsleys, an aristocratic family unable to save their ancestral estate because of debts. As they struggle to find a solution, a series of disturbing apparitions begin to haunt them, forcing the Wellsleys to confront the deep injustices they and other landowners, past and present, have wrought.

“SURREAL ESTATE” is a dark comedy short about a man, Mr. Smith, who attempts to rent a house and everything that can go wrong…does. It’s for anyone who has ever been to the DMV, changed checkout lines in a supermarket, or tried to navigate an automated telephone menu. It's the absurd chaos that develops in our minds as fantasy, but for Mr. Smith, it's all too real.
